Mike MorasH | Co-Founder
Prior to moving out west, Mike spent most of his formative years on Omàmìwininìwag (Algonquin) territory. He first picked up a camera when he was 2 years old and promptly fell down because at that time cameras were much larger and Mike was much smaller.
Since that day, Mike’s been most comfortable behind the camera. His curiosity continued throughout his time at the University of Victoria where his talents were noticed by various staff members and faculty. His unique understanding of academic subject matter and skills within videography quickly propelled him into the world of documentary filmmaking.
Today, Mike leads the technical side of One Island Media. You will most likely encounter him on set, in his natural habitat. Easy to identify, he will have a camera in one hand and donut in the other.
ODETTE JACQUET
Odette was born and raised on the unceded territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) people.
After graduating from business school and working as a general marketer, Odette realized that what really makes her come alive is the creative stuff. She thrives editing videos, writing, designing graphics, and helping clients to balance the awesomeness of their video with their budget.
Odette loves every part of the production process, from the first whiteboard session to planning the video’s release strategy. Impossibly, she balances on a tight rope between the left and right brain; using Spock-like logic and zesty imagination to elevate your video projects.
As a huge film nerd (and nerd in general), she is thrilled to be learning the difference between an apple box, a dead cat, and a martini shot. Odette is passionate about visual storytelling and works relentlessly to improve her craft.
Aislinn BeloT
Aislinn graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications in France. She pursued her passion further at the University of West Scotland where she completed a Masters in Filmmaking. Working on commercial film sets in various roles, she put her knowledge to practice and reaffirmed her love for the art form.
Always willing to embark on the next adventure and learn about different cultures, Aislinn soon made her way over from Europe to Canada. Travelling across the country, she fell in love with the wildness of Vancouver Island and decided to call it home. She is grateful to live and work on the beautiful lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) people.
Aislinn believes that everyone has a story to share, one that should be told. She hopes to bring your stories to life.
